Chapter 8: Bride: The Wedding Show - Westpoint 2014

So on Saturday 11th October and Sunday 12th October 2014, I went to another wedding fair, but this was no ordinary wedding fair, this was Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint. The biggest wedding fair experience in the South West! When Emma told me that we were going to be exhibiting with West Country Wedding Planner at this show, I didn't know what to expect, having never been to the Westpoint indoors venue, I thought it would be okay, probably crowded and very tiring. But this show is like no other I have been to and a lot bigger too!

The atmosphere walking in on that first day at 9am was amazing, there was a buzz in the air and you could just picture the Brides-to-be walking around with their Mothers (and Grooms-to-be trailing behind, usually looking very lost) getting more and more excited about their wedding. I saw the set up of our stand and it looked stunning, there were lace hanging lanterns, fairy lights and a beautifully decorated head table (courtesy of our very own, brilliant stylist, Nat). I couldn't wait to tell people all about what we do.

The show had everything that a Bride would need to think about. There was music, entertainment and a catwalk which advertised the new collections of Bridal gowns such as Pirouette and Kate Walker. There were also other wedding party attire being shown for Mothers-of-the-Bride, Bridesmaids, Grooms and Groomsmen. Lots of great conversations were had with our team and we have already had enquiries of people wanting us to help them to plan their weddings. We had many people enter into our competition which is great! I hope that the winner has a great time at their free photo shoot.

On the second day of the wedding fair, I was helping with Zephyr Holidays. It was so fun talking to people about our services that we can provide for them including our online gift list which can put money towards the couple's honeymoon. I really love this idea it creates such a more personal touch rather than just receiving a cheque in an envelope on the big day. It was great to see that some of the honeymoon offers that I had put together were bringing pleasant surprise to the passers by, not quite believing what they were reading.

All in all, this was the perfect wedding fair to go to, there were lots of people, yet not too crowded, and everyone there was having such a good time. Maybe I will see some of you readers there next year?
Thank you to all of the team who were there with West Country Wedding Planner and Zephyr Holidays, it was great being with you!

With Love,
The Aspiring Wedding Planner
