Chapter 5: Wedding fairs and my exciting news!

On the 16th February 2014, I helped an independent travel agency run a stall at a wedding fair held at the University of Exeter (Reed Hall), it was so exciting to be apart of and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was able to have many conversations with brides about where they would like to go on their honeymoon, this was like combining two of my favorite things in one, travel and weddings. I travel to many different countries regularly so I know about what destinations are good places to visit and others that I hadn't enjoyed particularly and why. I feel that my knowledge had helped the brides to get ideas on what they would want and I hope that they would take my advice into consideration.

I have recently done more wedding fairs and events these include: Saturday 26th April 2014 at the Exeter Food and Drink Festival, I had a great time helping out and it was great to meet new people and tell them about what Zephyr Holidays do. I felt really confident being there and walking up to people to try and get them to enter our free competition. I am loving helping out at these fairs and events, I thoroughly enjoy myself each time.

On Sunday 4th May 2014, I helped out at another wedding fair at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, I was there promoting West Country Wedding Planner and Zephyr Holidays. It was a great day and I enjoyed talking to the brides to be about the companies and about their plans for their weddings. I can't wait for the next one!

I have VERY exciting news! Firstly, I am now an official Wedding Planner with an official title: Trainee Wedding Consultant, this basically means that Wedding Planning is my job, not just a hobby and not just a dream! Secondly I am excited because I have recently been informed that I am going to be helping to plan my first wedding! I cannot wait to start looking at the wedding details for it. The wedding will be happening in August so not too far away but this will be such an amazing opportunity for me as a growing Wedding Planner. It will teach me about the ins and outs of what goes on behind the scenes on the actual wedding day itself. I am also going to be apart of the planning. This will be so fulfilling to know that I helped organise and put together something so special and important to enable the couple to have 'The best day of their lives'.

With each day that I work for West Country Wedding Planner, I look for opportunities for how I can increase in responsibility in my role and help as much as possible.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog and to those who have been following and supporting me in my journey.
The Aspiring Wedding Planner
